Default part question

I am trying to find the handle cover that goes over the hood release assembly. Does anyone have that part number? I've been all over ebay, no luck.

Thanks fellas.

I ordered a 9645386250001C from Pelican a year or so ago, but ended up returning it because the design was different from mine with respect to the fastening means. I can't remember the details, but seem to recall my original used an 'expanding' means on the cover bosses to hold it on, which had broken. but the one sent me had been changed to a 'thru bolt' means of attachment. I ended up somehow jury rigging my original to work.

Yep, I had the same issue. The original design - with the expanding internals - was discontinued because it kept breaking!! The new design uses a different inner section with moulded in threaded inserts into which the new retaining screws fix. To do the job right you have to replace the handle receptacle as well as the cover (and the screws). The handle stays the same.

The parts I needed were 964.538.625.00.01C (the cover), 993.538.101.00.01C (the housing) and 2 screws 900.119.091.02. Total cost in 2005 was approx $50.

Ain't innovation wonderful???

Regards

Dave
