Vibration at 70 MPH
All,
I have a 91 C2 cab and I get a vibration at speeds between 65 and 80 that seems to be coming from the rear. Is it likely to be the tires or are there some other weird things that could be lurking underneath? The tires have plenty of tread, no unusal wear that I can see. Toyo Proxies.........
I am assuming the tires, but want to be armed with alternatives if balancing does not work
Thanks!

cwrm4,
don't know if you get Top Gear but if your avatar is anything to go by you'll really appreciate the last of current series.
Apparently in Germany, like many countries they're copying the format... 3 people and fast cars. So to 'meet up' with the presenters of the German equivalent how'd you thing they arrive? In cars? nope, they chip up in.........

Sounds like wheel balancing (hopefully not bent rim- most likely just balancing)
Other things it could be: Check for proper tire inflation. Also, if the car has been sitting for a while and you noticed it after a short drive it could just be a flat spot working out. Sometimes when a car sits for say a month+ you'll notice a vibration/sound on the highway that typically goes away after 5 minutes or so at highway speeds as the tires warm up and get back to round.

Class!I am very much the Top Gear fan, having spent most of the years 1998 to 2004 living/working in various parts of Europe, including 2 years in the UK. Here the BBC America now shows Top Gear, but the schedule is a bit erratic (they are currently showing series 6 and series 8) and they lop a bit off each segment to squeeze in maximum commercials.

Try and have them balanced by someone who has a Hunter road force balancer or something similar. That way you can get a better idea if it is the tire, wheel, or combo of the both. I have just had better luck that way.
