Leather Dye kits - Anyone tried? - Any Good?
Hi Guys,
I have had the front seats in my 964 re-trimmed in the original colour and style linen leather. I am really pleased with the results. Originally I had seen adverts for leather dye, and was considering having a go. I was skeptical as most 'results' pictures looked like it had performed a miracle cure. I decided retrim was the best option and so did not go down the dye route.
Upon further reading the dye kits can also be used on vinyl too. I did than wonder about giving one a try to freshen up my rear seats and door panels.
Can anybody give feedback, good or bad about this type of product or their experience using it? Is any make good or bad etc.
Thanks
Ian

Have used the dyes and kit from Croftgate to do several cars including colour changing the colour of the interior on a couple
As long as you follow the instructions and dont laddle the dye on in one go you'll get great results

+1 I helped my best friend re-dye with Leatherique the complete interior of her Linen '87 Carrera Cabby. It came out really, really nice. Car looked like new and there was little to no evidence of a re-dye even up close. Follow the directions paying special attention to the prep and sanding, take your time , and as andrew 964 said, don't ladle on the dye. Prep is everything.
