removing the MAF wire boot and getting some clearence from the wires seems to have fixed it...but i'll have to be certain after some more miles on the hwy.

When I hit a bump, the check engine light comes on, and the differential light in the middle dashboard comes on (light is located at J39 of the schematic, 1990 C4, sheet 4).

Scratching my head?.......looks like the differential light goes to the V-belt, then through the DME connector?
