DMF wear limits?
My 92 C4 is in for a new clutch, and the rest of the might-as-wells. (106K, with all original parts) The mechanic says the flywheel is worn near the limit, and should be replaced. I cannot find a reference to wear limits or runout on the flywheel in the shop manual. The clutch disk was worn almost completely, but not to the rivets, so no scoring on the flywheel. Can this flywheel be resurfaced? I believe I want to stick with the DMF, rather than switching to the light weight flywheel. I have a Sachs clutch kit ready to go in, but I need to make a decision on the flywheel - and find one quickly.
