Input shaft seal
Anyone know if this seal is the right one for the input shaft (located behind the release bearing guide tube) on the transmission? I believe PET part # 999 113 326 41.

Looks right to me. Just like the one I had to put in one of my transes. That $5 seal ruined an entire weekend.

Now the big question - how do you get that thing out of there???
The edge in the center is soft but the outer edge is quite hard and I don't want to damage the transmission case and have a new leak!

I removed mine by taking a large screwdriver and gently prying one part of the front lip of the seal flat. Then I was able to tap an ice pick behind the seal to collapse it inward. Once the circumference decreased, it just pulled out. I used a 1" iron pipe with a steel coupling to tap the new seal into place. It was the perfect size. Do not push it too far in as there is no stop. Just get it in enough that the guide tube sits flat in the housing.
