Le Mans Classic
The Le Mans Classic is on the 11-13 July... A very rare chance to see THE Porsche 917 at home on the Mulsanne at night, plus a number of others...

Yes, certainly more civilised... The dress code for chaps speaks volumes - to quote "To visit the paddocks if no proper dress code is enforced, 'jacket and tie' is preferred. On the other hand, tracksuits, shorts and bare-chested are strictly prohibited"

I am going to Classic Le Mans this year. My C4, plus a C4 Anniversary, a 1965 911 and a new Aston martin Vantage all in convoy. We have plotted a roundabout back-country route that takes in a Chateau lunch en-route. Staying in Le Mans town for three nights. Funnily enough the one car I'm looking forward to seeing there is the 917.
I am a professional film-maker and will be creating a dvd of the weekend for my friends, so if anyone wants a copy then send me your address....

Alex, now isnt that a strange co incendence I'm in the film business as well - specifically stock, reportage and historic. We also represent Dave Sutton Motorsport photography.
I'm probably staying further south at a a rather splendid Chateau but we should arrange to travel down 'en mass'. 4 911's and an Aston..
To see a 917 at its one and only home, Le Mans is a must you'll get some awesome footage, be like Steve McQueen's Le Mans film all over again...

I'm going in a group that consists of my 964, a Flat Nose Turbo (supplied new by the Bin Laden Motor Co. in Saudi - honestly!), a 911 Turbo Special, a 944 and a Fiat Barchetta. Well worth the trip, went to the last one in 2006 and had a great time. Would be interested to hear of any 'favoured' routes I could program into the Sat Nav rather than just blast down the motorways.
