Engine Rebuild Q's
Hi All
I'm looking at the possibility of a top/bottom end rebuild and what I'm finding if I have to machine a crank/rod journal is that Porsche is the only supplier of oversized bearings and the price jump from a standard Glyco set to a Porsche oversize set is about $1000.00. Porsche will sell a single bearing for about the price of a full Glyco standard set but is it recommended to machine just one journal? Also, is there a spec I can provide my machine shop for the cylinder/head seal/gasket?
TIA

You might want to talk to the folks at Jerry Woods/Smart Racing. 408 369-9607
The Porsche rod bearings stink since they've changed. JWE/Smart Racing make better ones (that are now in my car). They also make stronger valve springs and other components you may want to consider.
