Question was asked:
> Not to hijack, but where does one buy Alcantara?

Mark generously offered to supply some, noted and appreciated.

But if you need a large amount then the US distributor for automotive grade Alcantara (the real trademark stuff) is Gulf Fabric in Tampa FL. Their phone number is 813-875-2707. Minimum order was a yard, but the roll is 48", so a "yard" is more than one square yard. It's a lot! They will also mail you small sample color swatches on request.

I wanted to match Alcantara to my 993 light grey leather interior for a steering wheel and shifter boot (ersatz GT3 look ).

ez-

I'm not in the market, mood, now -- but I do like the stuff...
Thanks for posting that supplier, for the day when someone's curiosity itch gets scratched.

(That lightweight door cladding... mighty evocative! Damn-it!)

Junkart...looking good.

Are your carbon pieces tinted green?

I may hit you up for some alcantara when I get there. Looks awesome.

For you guys with the RS carpet, did you do any sound deadening? I was thinking about going to some dynamat type but looking for something that is not asphalt based.

My OE foam/rubber is kinda disintegrating.

my stock foam was somewhat jacked up too... but i would say 90% still intact so i just stuck the RS carpet on top of it... my installer were going to charge me 300 bucks just to strip and clean it. he told me flat out he'd rather not do it. he also told me most people strip the foam when they're repainting the entire car... they just sand/media blast the crap out of it.
