Out of boredom I just read the box's construction.
I'm revising my earlier so-so conclusion: from a safety standpoint, this is mondo-spooky stuff, here.
It's an unreinforced box construction with no internal bracing against panel buckling.
Worst case is front tires halfway along the top where there's no box perimeter rigidity against panel bowing/buckling (as he benefits from at the ends.)
All held together with sheetrock screws.
He 'sometimes' feels the need to tie the tops together with that wood brace when he drives up onto this.
If this guy were family, I'd smack him up side of the head.

The top and bottom are 2"x10" or 12" with 2"X10" or 12" uprights on 16" centers.

From looking at it (and reading) he makes reference to "a piece of 6" X 1" on either side to make it more sturdy.
It looks like the 6 x 1 are laying flat next to each other to make a 12" X 1" and then the main box (10" wide) is attached to this? that would make it a bit more stable.
Height width got to be better than a those car stands that have 3 legs?????
The width of each one is at least 10" and possibly 12". It's only 16" tall yes??

First of all, wood is plenty strong. I have no issue with the strength of the material.
However....
1. The two pieces need to be aligned and stayed aligned at all times. Pretty much no exceptions on this rule for me.
2. The height is one that I would have to have a 20 foot ramp to get my car up there. I think not.
3. That is particle board, not plywood. Particle board needs to be oriented correctly to have any structural capability at all.
4. The fastening methods are also highly important if one wishes to avoid a listing on the Darwin awards.
5. Trying to work around two solid walls would be so damn irritating that I can't imagine wanting to be under the car even if I wasn't worried about getting crushed by my car.

Each to his own.
If you build it yourself then the strucural integrity is up to you. Can't see a problem here.
Two solid walls no different to working in a pit.
Ramp height could be a problem but looks to me it would be similar to having a car trailer with an open section between the wheels. Plenty can get their porsche onto a car trailer with out 20' ramps.

check this one out.
this would be good for a lot of people, center are bulky. if that Suburu can get up it i am sure a porsche could too with its low ride height.

I'm just going to dig a pit in my garage. Seems about as easy and much safer. Plus for Halloween I can flood it with water and put in sharks with lasers on their head.
Somehow I think that might hurt my property value.

If it were truly a budget issue behind this, I'd be more comfortable using a couple of floor jacks with 4 jack stands to back them up. You can get the car almost as high and I would feel much safer...

I have yet to pour the concrete slab and are thinking about a 2' deep pit that neatly fits between the Porsche's wheels.
I don't need to stand up, I just need to get to the bolts while she sits on level ground so I can do the alighnment.
