Has anybody fit the Cayman rim onto a 964?



Would they even fit?

Fronts will need a 5 mm spacer. Rears won't fit! ET is too low.

I thought there was a problem putting 18s on a 964? Besides I'm not sure if it would look that great? Those are great looking wheels but I can't envision them matching the looks of a 964, could be wrong though!

There are alot of people including myself running 18" wheels with no problems whatsoever. I've even tracked my car with the wheels with no rubbing issues or anything. I think Porsche at one time released a bulletin stating 18" wheels werent recommended on these cars but from what I see, 18"s are the norm on some of them it seems

I have 18"s no problems at all. With lighter wheels and tyres from when the 964 was first produced the stress on the suspension is not as great as 20 years ago. Make sure you get the correct offsets or you could end up wasting a lot of time and money.

I have no problems with an 18" rim. The problem I have is trying to find a rim that I like. I have 17" Cup I's on the car, and they look good, but it might be time to go with a newer fancy pair of shoes for the old girl. I want something somewhat unique, not a rim that everybody else has on their 964. I think the Cayman S rim would look good, as would a 996 GT3 rim. Thanks for the info, I'm learning lots about 964 rim size/offsets.

Cayman 18x9 ET43 rear wheels will fit a 964 just fine... debates on 18" wheel use aside.

964 Cup rear Speedlines were 18x9.5 ET47. The Cayman rear wheel by comparison will "stick out" about 2mm less, and have about 10mm more clearance on the inside (from rubbing tub/oil line).

Yes, the 964 Cup cars were narrow bodied.

For 9" wheels, offsets from the low 40s to the mid 50s will work. The lower offsets effectively space the wheel and place them out closer to the fender lip (wider look).

For 9.5 to 10" wheels, you'll want to stay pretty close to the mid or high 40s for offset.

They are replicas made by penta I think. Do you not have anywhere in Canada that suplies Porsche style replicas they might be able so source them.
