Default Paint codes

I need some Guards, my code under the bonnet is;

80K 9 2
Guards red
G1

In the book it has L80K LT

I think the LT is interior trim
I need a paint code for this colour ,can I get one anywhere?

80K is the correct colour code for Guards Red. They always print an "L" in front of the colour code on the bonnet label.

That's it. You can check on http://www.paintscratch.com. They show other codes for the same colour but you risk shade differences between colour codes.

I suspect it may depend on who you get to mix the colours. I know Halfords have never heard of my Trophy Yellow (Colour Code FAR) despite there being thousands of MGs around painted that colour!!!

If you try a professional trade paint supplier you should have no trouble.

You may need a different colour if your'e haveing some panels done as they will have faded over time..ask me how I know, my work ended up being something like 72L Vauxhall flame red or similar.....using a proper paint colour matching tool..
