Default 964 Heater Control Unit

I've (finally) identified and isolated the cause of a bitch of a battery drain. It turns out it was the fan in the Heater control unit turning on spuriously after the car had been left for about an hour. I now have the unit disconnected and naturally no more flat batteries.

The problem I have is that a new unit is something like £1100!! ideally I’d like to get the unit fixed which has got to be cheaper!...Does anyone know of a UK company who might be able to recondition these units? (for info it’s a RHD 1991 964 turbo with aircon)

Thanks
