WTB: Gas cap for 964
G'day all,
I need a gas cap for a 964, part number 993-201-271-00-M100.
If anyone has a spare they dont want please let me know, can pay via paypal, need postage to Australia post code 2608.
I need this because *someone* left the old one on the top of the Petrol bowser the last time he filled up...
Cheers

Cost of shipping from US is the killer, I checked Peilcan and it works out to $53 USD total, I can get a new one here for $50 AUD (daylight robbery).
So I'll just make do with the temporary one until I spot one on fleabay...

my 2004 toyota corolla gas cap fits my 1990 964 perfect, even the rubber gasket the same. just that the toyota is all plastic as the porsche has metal threads. but its does fit and seal. even tried the porsche on the toyota and perfect fit.
the toyota being all plastic should save some weight and give you 2 hp too
but seriously it does fit.

I'll say!
Dutch, your entry would make a dandy, short DIY/FYI-section entry.
Tack a couple photos onto it, and it'd be a perfect outside-the-box 'alternate solution'.
And I like that weight-savings angle...

(now if only someone could come up with a seamless Toyota-quality rear light bezel replacement, I'd be a happy camper!)

dutchcrunch is absolutely correct. Most gas caps will work in your car. I have an aftermarket plastic cap in mine because the rubber gasket broke in the OEM red cap.
Oh yeah, and dutchcrunch, when you do the DIY, make sure you have a dyno run before and after, otherwise all hell will break loose
