I'm not convinced that weight reduction is a reasonable argument on its own. The difference of 30 lbs on a 3000 lb car is nothing anyone is ever going to notice.

While some have had good experiences with Fabspeed (and the dual outlet that he produces), I did not. I dyno tested the Fabspeed dual outlet muffler and had less hp than what I started with (cat bypass, stock primary and secondary bypass). I could meet sound restrictions at Laguna Seca (92 db) with the secondary bypass but failed with the Fabspeed dual outlet (despite Joe's promises).

Don't disagree but with primary bypass and HF cat, my secondary went so on went a g-pipe instead of putting the weight back on.
WAY too loud so rather than get another secondary, I opted for a Fab primary. Its sane again. Nice tail pipe too.

I like the look of the Cross but was not prepared to wait. The car was virtually undriveable.

Agreed. It has to be one or the other.
I hurredly bought a G pipe for my new to me '92 a few weeks ago... I installed it, and fired it up and it sounded like a 962.!. A quick look revealed the PO had already installed a Pri bypass! The scecondary went back on, and now I have a barely used G pipe for sale...

would it be silly to hv a set of custom headers made that mates to factory cat-secondary exhaust? so stock config but w/o heat exchangers... tia.

Default custom exhaust

Why have headers made when you could just rip the heat exchanger sheet metal off the stock ones. I have a set of exchangers with beat up sheet metal, if anyone woud like to buy them at a very reasonable price for this approach.

I like dumping the secondary exhaust and huge heavy bracket. I really would like to see The actual number on the weight. I think that secondary and bracket is just about as heavy as the so called "more restrictive" primary.

The first 911 built had the exhaust going across the back and that is the way God intended it to be. IMHO...

Run what ever you like. Its all abut the joy of driving !
