I also use Griots for the smell. Have used most of the other brands - currently really recommend Pecard....(use it for my kids horseriding saddles and it really does soak into leather and get the oils in).....

Leather has no smell. The smell comes from the dyes used to color and condition them.

This is really good product. And very inexpensive to order online. I placed one pad under the seat of my 2001 996turbo and I really enjoy the smell. I have had many comments like "smells like a brand new leather interior etc".
First it seems like the smell is very non-existent but within a couple of days it gets stronger. You can order a couple of pads from England for about 10 bucks.
