Default Master Cylinder Part Number Question

I have a master cylinder bought on eBay a while back that I was planning to use in a Big Red update. The unit has an ATE logo cast into it and a part number of 964.355.025.52 (see photos). Although it is in the right series for 964 brake parts I can't find this specific part number in PET or online.

Can anyone identify the part and more importantly its specifications (piston diameter)?

Thanks in advance!

Jim

That part number doesn't come up as the right number for a C2 or C4 as I see in the 2005 PET, but based on its appearance it looks like a C4 master cylinder, not a C2 master cylinder (C2 has a 45 degree angled flange).

I've no idea either, they used to emboss the m/c piston size on the case. Look for either 20.6 or 23.8 or 25.4

It looks like one of the latter 2

Thanks guys, the only thing I see stamped on the body that is close to the typical size numbers is "23VZ". To try and find out for sure I have sent an email to Ate for some assistance.

Ciao!

Indycam,

I've got a set of digital calipers but I don't think there is any easy, non-destructive way to measure the internal piston size. The circlip that holds everything together has no holes to get a set of circlip pliers on. I might consider trying to get the clip off some other way as a last resort, or did you have something else in mind?

You don't need to get to the piston .
Try to measurer the bore .
