Default DME relay fix

A while back, my 964 engine didn't start right away, so I checked the DME relay using a 3 wire jumper I made. It worked fine with the jumper. Before I got a new one, I opened the old one and decided to re-solder all the connections. After soldering the connections, I tried it in the car and it worked. I drove it several times until I could get a new one and it performed flawlessly. I now have the old one as a spare. The moral of this story is if you have an old one that failed, it may become a good spare if re-soldered.
I did the re-solder trick on my Cab top controller with excellent results too. I guess we are victims of the solder lead reducing efforts of the early 90's. I understand a high lead content solder is still available for military applications due to it's much lower failure rate. Is it available to the general public? I'll do all repairs with it if it can be found.

P.S. I had the same experience with my 993 with exactly the same results.
