The other day whilst out for a drive,(91 C2 tip)the ABS light came on accompanied by a buzzer.I pressad the reset button in the centre console,the buzzer stopped but light stayed lit,then I noticed the spedo,oddometer and tipptronic gear change had also stopped working,although gears worked ok in auto.After stopping for about 30 mins I restarted the engine and the fault had dissapeared. Today it has happened again,but without the loss of tipptronic.
Could this be a DME relay problem,or somthing more serious?

Check all the grounds on the car. I was getting the Xmas tree effect intermittently, and struggled with similiar issues for some time. While out at Bruce Anderson's maintenance class in California in December, I mentioned it to Pete Smith, our guest instructor, PCA National Technical Committee member, and dealer mechanic, and he suggested that I check/clean the grounds. Didn't know where all these were, but had my mechanic do it, and the problem has disappeared. Might be worth a try on your part.
