Default tyre inflator

Hi guys, the emergency tyre compressor which came with my porker has given up the ghost. Did these cars come with a Porsche-branded compressor originally? If so, is it worth sourcing a new one, or is a generic machine all that is needed?

Cheers

Andrew.

I have an aftermarket Michelin one but I find all the electric ones a PIA so bought a good quality, double barrel foot pump instead.

Yes. They look like this in the US, as I'm guessing they do in the ROW.

They're pretty commonly available from Porsche dismantlers/junk yards.
It was a common 'package' across the 944/928/911 lineups.
That black rounded plastic container/case you see above is about 1 ft square by 6 inches deep.

Here's one going for about $100: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW

If you're not persnickity about OE, then anything that gets you to 40 psi will do just fine. Foot pump, tire pump, bicycle pump, blow-hard relative, etc.

Try Type 911 if you want a new Porsche one.
