Default Green with envy!

My kid brother test drove an 06 C2S Cab today.
I'm biting on a stick!

I couldn't be happier for him.
Or me, for that matter. It's the only way I'll ever get behind he wheel of one of those!

Here's hoping he buys the damn thing!

We have similar kid brothers except mine has the C4S cab. Very nice and very fast cars to drive but not the same involvement that the 964 gives IMO.

Here's me having a go in it on a track you might recognise

Indycam,

Actually, I agree. I would not trade my 964 for a 997 even if I could afford to.

However, having driven a 996 recently I can honestly say that I respect the capabilities of these cars. I expect the 997 is even nicer.

Not my cup of tea, but I do look forward to driving it!

Okay... I'm the kid brother. I wasn't as wild about the 06 C2S after driving an 07 C4S. The 4S feels like a completely different car. Then I drove an 04 C4S (Cabriolet) - which I liked even better than the 07 C4S - the 04 somehow feels a lot more like a Porsche than the 997. Check out this review - http://car-reviews.automobile.com/Po...road-test/839/

I liked it so much, that I bought it! Looking forward to my big brother taking it out for a spin. Yeah, it's not air-cooled, but I think he will approve after he drives it! (David - Thanks for your help, insights and thoughts during the whole process. Your little bro)

At the Barber/Porsche school you drive virtually new rolling stock- C2, C2s, Cayman S and Boxster S.
They are all (all) really fine cars and without timing myself I'd wager I am seconds faster (and ultimately safer) in any of them over the 964. But they just don't feel "raw" enough even when driven closer to the limit (hot lap with instructor). I dont think that I am unique in saying this.

I'm not saying I would never get one (never say never) but I think it would have to be in GT3 guise.

Well I'll be . . . congratulations bro! That's awsome. You've got to be over the moon.

I'll give you a buzz when I get home. I'm on the train with a dead cell phone and a verizon wireless card.

Oh, and it's customary to post pics of your new ride!

Looks like I'll have to plan a trip north some time soon . . .

The C4S has the best looking rear end of the 996 line. Great looking car, enjoy it

Especially with the 964esque rear reflector
