Question Headlight Aim Adjustment

Hi,

Does anyone have a pattern or guideline for adjusting the aim on headlights?

Search did not yield any relevant results.

This is a RHD 91 C4. The aim on mine seems to be totally off. Both seem to aimed somewhat high. The left (passenger side) beam is aimed too far right as well. Its almost as if the lights were aimed after the suspension was lowered at a standard height target by the PO.

I also noticed that both headlight lenses have arrows pointing to left (passenger side). Is this correct for a RHD?

The UK MOT Test includes a check on headlight aim - details can be found here.

The arrow pointing to the left on the headlight lens is, AFAIK, correct - it indicates a left hand dip (not left hand drive). I'm pretty sure the headlamps in a LHD car will have arrows pointing to the right, i.e. right hand dip.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the info!

This should help. I'll make a few measurements and the adjustments.
