Hi all,
My wife got me the G-Timer GT2 model (only $53 brand new on Amazon) for Christmas so I played with it for a few minutes this afternoon. Don't know how accurate it is, and it was difficult to find open/flat/empty road to try it so I only did two 0-70/80 runs. Results are below. Car is a basically stock 91 Tiptronic Cab at the moment. I completed the engine rebuild about 500 miles ago. All stock with the exception of the airbox holes that the PO did. Also running snow tires at the moment 225/45/17 at the rear.
All in all a neat gadget, certainly worth 53 bucks in fun factor alone!
Run#1 Manually shifted
0-50 4.12 sec
0-60 5.4 sec
0-70 6.85 sec
0-80 9.08 sec
max speed 82.7 mph
calc HP 274??? (not too sure about this calculation!)
Run#2
0-50 4.63 sec
0-60 6.0 sec
0-70 8.00 sec
max speed 76.1 MPH
calc HP 254
I actually felt like I could have done a little better.....
Anyone else ever try one of these? Any coments on accuracy?

I've got a PerformanceBox ( http://www.performancebox.co.uk/ ) and posted an easy 6.0 to 60, gentle take off and slow first to second change (0.7sec). No hp measurement as not got an accurate weight for my car. It's measured some good ingear times too. However it's purpose is for datalogging all my trackdays.
How does your g-timer work, sounds like it could be great value.

The G timer works soley by measuring g forces/acceleration and then calculates speed and distance etc. I entered 3300 lbs for my car with me in it and used the standard Cd that they had in the book for a 911 (although that number may be too high for a narrow body 964). I read somewhere here on Rennlist an old car magazine test on the unit and I believe it was accurate to within .2 seconds.

Yeah, I got one (same model) last Christmas. My lowest out of three 0-60 time in my RSA was 4.75 seconds. My highest was something like 5.2. For what its worth, I think I was down to less than a quarter tank of fuel. I stopped trying after three runs because I could smell my clutch disc burning...

I don't know anything about the usability if these things. Can you do rolling 30-100 mph runs? Would save your clutch and attempt to replicate tight hairpin to straightaway track section which could be useful to some.
