Leaking Bonnet/Trunk(luggage area)
Hi
Getting some water in the luggage compartment where the spare wheel is. I noticed there is a tear in the rubber seal that runs along the smile part where the lip of the bonnet meets the bumper.
Does anyone know the part number please. I live in Jersey in the UK and there is only one Porsche dealer and they dont want to know about the older cars.
Thanks
Rob

Rob,
Download the Porsche Parts Catalog (PET) for your model of car here...
http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessorie...spdfcatalogue/
It will be in pdf format and you can browse through and find the part number you're looking for.
I'm surprised your Jersey OPC isn't more helpful, there must be loads of older Porsches on Jersey. If you must go down the OPC route Swindon are very helpful with older cars.
You might also find the seal at an independent specialist such as http://www.forestfine.com/porsche

Before you go changing the seal, take the wheel out and dry the luggage compartment. Then pour some water down the chanels where the wings meet the luggage compartment.
The water runs down to the front and then disappears through the slots in the seal (smile) at the front of the car. It then drains down the front wall of the tub and onto the floor.
Then watch to see if any water gets inside the luggage compartment. With mine, I found water seeped into one side of the compartment. This was because there was a tiny crack that had been caused by the car being grounded in its past history. Probably by parking next to a kerb (the same type of kerbing that deforms the 964 'grin'). My leak was simply solved with a bit of body filler.
