Default gear shift **** removal

Ok, how do you get this thing off? I have tried pulling, twisting, prying.

Cheers

Twist and pull, it should come off. It is a snug fit but it is just a blob of rubber gripping the shift lever.

Since you have the boot ripped off, you can cheat by placing a thin screwdriver up along side the metal shift rod to separate the stuck rubber ****.

Thanks guys, I had to put a spanner under the **** and hit the bugger with a hammer. Seriously, it would not move. Got it off, finally.
