Opinion on Mahle equipment vs. Porsche OEM
Just curious. I was looking through a parts catalogue and noticed the catalogue (Performance Products, FWIW) had prices for air and oil filters about 1/2 as much as Porsche OEM. Then I noticed they were all made by Mahle.
Anybody have any comments (good, bad) about them?

Mahle is the OEM manufacturer for Porsche here in Stuttgart. Hence the quality should be identical except for the packaging.
The same applies to Dansk exhausts.
Incidentally, Mr. Mahle is frequently seen in one of his historic Porsche at local vintage events.

The OE oil & air filters are no longer supplied in North America by Mahle. There was a difference between the OE Mahle and OEM Mahle but it was only noticeable on the 993TT so I'm not sure it really matters to 964 owners. You can buy OE filters for $5-8USD from Sunset Imports or any of the other mail-order discounting Porsche dealerships.
