So there are a few things wrong with the shots: leaves, and I don't have a circular polarizer to get rid of the reflections. I like the shot, and will try again when I have the CPL. Just thought I'd share the shots. The shots were taken with Ricardo's 85mm lens; Thanks Ricardo.

I prefer the colour pic. too as the slightly tinted background lets the black car stand out better. ![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Perhaps removing the pink tinge from the clear turn signal might make it look even better though.

The color picture is cool because it looks like everything else is black and white, but the leaves, and their reflection are yellowish - looks cool. It reminds me of those cards where everything is black and white but there's a red rose in the picture...

hawk: as a former car photographer back in the 90's I would say that you shouldn't be worried with filters, bad lights and trash because photography nowadays for good or bad is a digital art. It's all about pixel manipulation. Today if I want to take a photo of a car I just choose the scenario (like you did very well) all the rest it's a job for the computer. You can take your leaves one by one, you can change the light with billions of possible combinations, you can get rid of reflections, change color etc. In the past I had to clean the floor that surrounded the car. Today the car can even stand in a poodle of oil or a on top of a food bag that I don't care. I know the computer will clean it. So, my advice (if I can give any) is to invest on digital image treatment, using common software like Photoshop. To illustrate what I'm saying I took the liberty to use your pic and add a 2 minutes quickly mod, removing some of the front leaves, take off some reflections and play with the light and contrast.

Zico; thanks for the advice. I like the leaf treatment, but the front end is a bit overdone. The hot-spot reflections are gone, but at the expense of the shape of the fender. As for editing, I have Photoshop Elements and there isn't anything I need to do that I can't with PE.

Desaturate everything in the background *except* those leaves... Turn the leaves a brighter shade of yellow... and make this into your version of gold laying on the ground... giving your car highlights in reflection...
Quite pretty, that gold on black.
BTW, this was done with the poor man's version of photoshop: Gimp 2.2. Free. And I hope you didn't mind me tap-dancing on your copy-writed print.

I actually like the B&W pic better than the color. And the one that elbee964 modified actually looks the best to me. The other color pics had too much yellow in it from the tungsten lights as hawk911 said.
