Default 911secrets

Has anyone purchased the buyer's guide from 911secrets? If so, would you recommend it? Any other books/sources I should consider for 964 advice (besides the obvious answer of rennlist's search button )?

Adrian's book is my recommendation. Good investment. I looked at 12 964s before I finally found my car.

Yup, I plan to start looking this weekend...

I also need to start thinking about selling my current ride ('04 MCS). I want to go back to RWD ASAP!

I bought the book not knowing anything about Porsches. I found the information and photos useful and it was nice to have it all in one location.

I would not call it the "authoritative" guide to buying a 911 and I don't think the author even implies that. I think it was a little pricey for the amount of information. I used it plus information from:

Porsche 911 Redbook 1965-2005... Patrick Paternie...$13.95
Porsche 911 Performance Handbook... Bruce Anderson...$24.95
Porsche 911 Story The entire development history... Paul Frere...$44.95

All contain information that is unique to the book, while essentially all cover the basic 964 in general.

Streathers book has been on back order for months and I have concluded from the praise of it, that it is probably the authoritative book. Its just not available right now, at least from Bentley's.

Good luck!

I did the exact same thing. I had a MINI Cooper and couldn't wait to sell it to get a RWD vehicle again. I guess it was the time I slid down an embankment into a splashdown in a mudpit (which saved me from flipping over). It would have never happened in a car that didn't have the understeer of the MC.

Get rid of the MC, get a 911 and never look back! That's what I did. Been smiling ever since

By the way, the best book I found while looking for the right 911 for me was Peter Zimmermann's "The Used 911 Story."

Pelican has 8 Streather 964 books in stock. HERE

EDIT
Lynn pointed out that I was linking the technical data book, not the Streather 964 enthusiasts companion. Duh. No wonder there were 8 in stock, that thing sucks. The link at Pelican for the Streather book is HERE and they are out of stock too.

I purchased the "911secrets" guide last night, in large part because it included instant gratification Definitely looks like it will be helpful, though the format isn't so great.

Once I've actually sat in and test driven a 964, I will decide if I need to continue buying more books or not...

this looks pretty nice.
