This is the new car pre-conversion. Sorta sticks out like a sore thumb huh?
Well the after pics later this month should put it in a better light.

You can see the cars at Kinetic are extremely drool-worthy. When I first went there I asked them if I was in wrong place but they were very friendly and said they'd just change my oil if thats all I need of them. With 44k sq. feet including in-house paint bay, engine dyno and alignment facility, there isn't much they can't do.

I feel the same way when I take my car into the local Porsche Hot rod shop for a Tech inspection. Last time I was there they had a Martini 935, Abarth Carrera, and an RSK spyder that won Le Mans. My car stuck out like a really sore thumb. But same deal as your shop, they're happy to work on anything.

As I say I'll feel less self-conscious once we get some stuff done but meanwhile . . .
Look at the fenderlines in the second photo- mine looks like its pointing to the sky.

Dunno - I see a bunch of wannabe privateer racers & one purpose built factory road car. In those terms - yours doesn't look too bad

Kidding - looking forward to seeing the mods!

Funny, story about the white 964 of Bob's # 267.
The DE before last I was chasing him around the track , but every time he would get to the straight he would just pull away from me.
When we came off the track and was driving up the hill to the paddocks, I see a extra little pipe on the left side. I went over talked with him and he told me it was now a 3.8 .
I have been think about making mine a 3.8 ever since.

Sorry for the hijack but that is so frustrating when people do that. Someone did that to me a couple of weeks ago and I have it on video. The profanity is pretty entertaining. Hijack over...

What? You're in a Euro SC, Chris--the giant slayer. No one should be doing that to you!

Seriously though, that car's going to be the sh*t once you get it sorted, Chris. Soon we'll be reading stories of how you ran down a 993TT or GT3. I noticed in your Putnam video, though, that you seem to get on the brakes just a tad early--lots of straight line braking. Does the tail step out when you trail brake? Send me a note offline if you want to delve into it or maybe start another thread featuring the video. Overall, you were looking pretty smooth and hitting your marks.

(Back to the top) Nice work, David! I think many shops can take care of our cars just fine but a highly-regarded race shop is really your best bet for suspension and alignment. Unlike the Porsche dealership, they are much more familiar with our older 911's and have plenty of experience prepping cars for track duty.
Good call!

Well it was actually another repair shop in Atl that directed me to them. They are competent but not in the same league when it comes to track prep. Problem is Kinetic can do what they do as well so I may be switching over entirely. They are closer too.

BTW Kinetic have recommend protective film for the hood and bumper- but its not cheap (approx $1k)- what do you guys think?

Wow $1K for a clear bra? It will definitely protect your car but I bet you could get it repainted for less than that.

$1k is pricey for a clear bra, they are usually in the $300-500 range.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. When protection costs as much as the likely damage, then it really doesn't make sense. Kind of like having hurricane insurance with a million dollar deductible.

Thanks.

David, nice pics. What plans do you have for the car?
