Default Intermittent Headlights

My headlights went off for a few seconds when I driving on the motorway the other day. They came back on a second or two later and they have done it twice more since then. Each time they only go off for a moment and then seem to come back on. I think it may be a bad connection somewhere but i'm not really sure where to start.
Any ideas please???Cheers.

Had that in the past and was cured by taking apart the switch assembly behind the steering wheel (i.e. indicator stalk, wiper stalk etc) and pressing back together the contacts and spraying them with contact cleaner. From searches on here appears that it wears and when going from hi to low beam can cause this effect.

Start with the Relays in the front boot. Almost everything in the Porsche has a related relay that can get dirty or create intermittent problems, especially as the weather turns cold and wet. Check the diagram, and find the related relay. With the lights on, you might be able to simply wiggle the relay to re-create the failure. You can gently open the relays up. Take some 600 grit paper and gently clean the contacts, and the relay "feet" that go into the connector block. (fold the paper so you have two gritty sides out.. and pinch it between the relay contact points, and "file" it back and forth a little.) This will help immensely, and maybe you won't have to tear the dash apart.
