Default Red springs?Green springs? Many ??s

Hi guys. I'm getting ready (really this time!) to do the suspension thing. I want to go with the red H&R springs but where does one source them? Are they really red? Are they known as Turbo springs? I have a credit at Performance so I'de like to use it up and get the springs from them. They list "sport" springs for C2s and Turbos. They know nothing of red, green, or otherwise. "They're all black".

They also don't have a clue about Bilstein shocks. I told them I wanted the fully threaded struts. They asked more about that and I explained that they are adjustable...Soon as the words "adjustable" fell out of my mouth they said I needed PSS9s if I wanted adjustable. I tried to explain that I was refering to the spring perches. not the dampening, but it was too late. They had brain lock.

I know - at this point I should just source them elsewhere, but like I said, I have the credit, which will cover the springs anyway.

Any clarification and/or Bilstein/H&R part numbers would be helpful. Thanks.

Btw-I have searched this tppic and I'm in info overload mode. I basically need someone to confirm. Thx

Green for street, red for track...IMHO

Tire Rack sells the H & R springs too.

"hawk911 has reds on his car I think. Maybe PM him"

I've driven his car - that's why I want the red springs. In fact, he's been kind enough to host a "suspension-fest" at his garage. Okay, it will be he, Ricardo, and myself so not much of a fest, but two cars will certainly see improvement.

In looking around, places like Tirerack and Shox.com list the H&Rs for model only, i.e. C2, Turb, etc., with no red/green option. That's why I want to confirm that the red are turbo H&Rs and that they will fit my C2.

I have the reds on my 91 C4 with koni's. Perfectly comfortable on the street, and actually a little soft for the track. Koni's help, as I can tone them down for day to day, and firm them up when I have to. If you are ever in Indiana, more than welcome to try them.

I have the reds. They are **** for DE/track use but still livable for street use. They are very firm, but not race firm. I wouldn't want anything softer. I wouldn't even mess with the greens if you ever plan on tracking.

Hey man, what year is your car. Here is what I got but it might be different because mine is a 1990 C2.

Part no's:

Bilstein HD shock rear (2)
F4-B46-1735-H0

Bilstein HD shock fronts
F4-VE3-5278-H0 right
F4-VE3-5277-H0 left

Springs H&R Porsche ("Red's")
29834

I bought everything from Tire Rack.

Good Luck,
Donovan

Good question! It's a 92. Between you and Myturbo36 it would seem that the part # for the reds is 29834. Thanks! On the struts - I'm thinking the part numbers are different for my car, but thanks for posting the #s. That's exactly, what I need. Anyone have them for a 92?

TR6 - sign me up for the ****. I am for sure getting the reds. According to Bill Verburg the spring rates are somewhat higher than the M030 which puts them right where I want to be for mostly street and some track use.

Davis-thanks for the kind offer. I actually get to Bloomington on occassion. If may take you up on that!

hildy- I can check my receipts tonight. I got the Reds used from a Rennlister, so I can's help on sourcing those new. I did buy the shocks new, and they are the Bilstein HDs. That's the part I'll have the receipt for.

+1 on what TR6 said. I have reds with Bilstein HDs and really like the feel. They were installed by a PO. My car is a DD and I would not want anything softer.

Geoff - that would be great. The Bils are what I need the part # for. Thanks!

Yep-I've got 8 if you think I should bring them.

I just ordered the stuff through Performance. They did some digging and thanks to help from this board the spring #29834 has been ordered. They list that as a "race" spring for RSAs and Turbos. It's special order, but it should be here in 2 weeks. The shocks were in stock. I had them physically verify that they were of the threaded variety.

I must say Performance did a good job on this. They spent the time to sift through it all and make sure they got the right stuff for me and they even discounted it below Shox.com's price. I got the whole she-bang for 996.00.
