If the car hasn't been repainted it should be on the underside of the front trunk lid. Also, if it still has the original manual, it should be on p. 1.

Some states and countries removed these prior to the car being sold. Although under the front lid by the lock is the correct location. These can be removed and replaced after painting. Most of the original placed stickers are not perfectly placed. More like someone reached under and slapped it on vs being perfectly centered and aligned. So if it is perfect it might have been removed and replaced.

If your car is a 94 it will have the vin number on little stickers on each of the major panels also.

Could some one post a picture of the decal location under their hood. I have searched everywhere for a picture but can only find close ups of the option code decal.

I have seen quite a few cars that people have removed the decals because they are made of paper and dont age well. My wifes 03 Boxster S it is all wrinkled.

Thanks and same to you. I would love to see some pictures of your 968 in Cobalt. I have seen 944's in Cobalt but never 968's. Great cars and even better in Cobalt

My '92 968 had a bar code under the hood before I did the turbo S conversion and installed the NACA and intercooler vents.

Here is my option code label using a wider view. Mine looks like its been slapped on without much care. I have also included the location of the paint code label as well.

There is a TSB #9301 for all 911 models Titled "Motor Vehicle Theft Law Enforcement Act - Part Marking" It is 4 pages and my scanner is not working. I will see what I can do to post it and pictures I have.

Thanks guys !IF any one is missing one of these decals but know what all the correct information to their car is I can have reproductions printed up. I also made the no longer available air conditioning decal for the engine.

Example: red stripes just to prevent copys

Scanner still not working although I have these pictures of some of the different locations of the vin stickers on 1994 model 911's.

the sticker is non removable and has the complete vin printed. Replacement locations are stated on the TSB which I will try to post and do not have the vin number.

I am missing the pictures of the rear bumper locations they are directly behind the license plate and on either side of the bumper extension where it is covered by the center section of bumper. I would need to disassemble my car to post pictures.

Hope this helps.
