Default A tall man thinking aboutreplacing the seats on a 90 c4?

Would appreciate any advice or comments regarding replacing the power/heated seats on my 90 c4.

There is some sort of problem with the drivers seat where it periodically blows the fuse. The long-time mechanic for the car has spent a fair amount of time with it and can't figure out the exact problem. So far he's done this for free but if I really want it to be fixed and it turns out the motor is bad that seems likely to cost me some money. The suggestion has been made that I might want to consider replacing the seats with snazzier (and much lighter!) Recaro's or something rather than put $500 or more into fixing the seats that I have.
  • this is a DD, I'm not a racer (track or street)
  • I've had the current seats moved back 2" on the rails to accommodate my freakishly long legs (I'm 6'3" and my upper legs are disproportionately long)
  • I don't care about the 'power' adjustments (actually prefer manual ones)
  • I don't use the heated seat
  • the car is no longer 'stock' since it's got the LWF and RS clutch
  • I DO find the current seats to be quite comfortable
  • the leather on the current seats is in ok condition but if I keep them it's highly likely I'll end up re-conditioning them (more $)
