- too much old stock lying around masquerading as new cars and then there was the 993
If the foot rest to the left was the update then i must have a retro fitted pedal box as mine is sept 93 build IIRC.

More likely original fit - what happened was that a lot of 90/91 cars were made prior to the update and they sat around and were not reg until 92/93 - old cars in the first place - but there were some genuine 91/92 RHD manufacture cars but many more old /new cars

It's definately 1993 build from the stamps on some of the interior parts/panels and also becuse the Turbo 3.6 wasn't announced or built till '93 IIRC. Must be a case of the parts bin being raided then...

When I was looking for mine, specifically 92 onwards, every car I looked at ( 14 in total ) had the left side foot rest and the 993 style top button rear seats. I would assume the only cars that were 'old' and sold post '92 would have been completed orders that were cancelled by customers and sold on dealer forecourts. As far as I am aware, Porsche made its cars to order, so didn't have fields of unsold cars lying about during the recession.

Specifically with regard to the foot rest/pedal upgrade, someone posted the details of the kit which is/was available from Porsche in a recent thread. May be worth a search?
