local Porsche dealers and for that matter most dealers do not install glass. They contract it out, even if you buy the glass at their parts department.

i have a crack in my screen - with reference to the insurance aspect, I have cover for glass, will they allow me to get the screen out myself so that i can attend to the rust around the scuttle before they put the new screen in???

I want to make sure that all rust is cleaned up before a screen is put in, then i can get it sprayed up, etc

Jeff,
I had one installed about a year ago from a mobile glass shop from Alexandria, they came to my house. The windsield was a Sigla for 450.00, gasket 129.00, va tax 28.95, total 607.95
Might be worth a 3 hour drive up to Northen VA if you can save 400 bucks?

btw- I had a rock hit 2 weeks ago on southbound 95, nice little star right above the driver windshield wiper, it's always F'n something aint it?

I dont know anything about them or if it's still in business, here's the info
That Glass Place

good luck

It seems that every time I think about getting a new windshield, it collects a rock shortly afterward. Think I'll wait until I can't ignore the chips anymore!
