Hey, I picked up my 1989 Porsche 911 C4 about a week ago, and I've been driving it every day since. What an amazing car, I plan to drive it year round living outside of Calgary, AB so it'll definately see snow. My only plans are to get the couple small things that aren't working right fixed, and then maybe some different rims to show off the brakes a bit more. I believe the exhaust isn't stock and the brakes are modified, that'll probably be the extent of the performance related modifications.

The two issues I have are the passenger window isn't on the track and I can't seem to get the door panel completely off, I can't get the piece where the door lock turner is off. (That probably doesn't make any sense, haha). The other issue is my blower fan for my HVAC doesn't blow, I've checked a couple fuses and relays and haven't found one that is blown, I'll try again in a few days.

Apparently I can't post pictures yet, which makes sense, so I'll post some when I have enough of a post count.

First of all, welcome and congratulations on your new purchase! You'll find a helpful and enthusiastic group here.

The door lock **** has a central piece that can be prised out with a utility knife. Within is a screw. Once that is off the outside ring, itself, unscrews with a bit of coaxing with your hands.

A good place to start for heater repair is p-car.

Good luck!

Cody...great choice for your year-round daily driver. Just make sure you get something to protect you from the gravel on the roads in the winter (and some Blizzaks!). The low slung front end is a magnet for that stuff, and having lived in Calgary, I know there is a lot of it on the ground up there. Good luck getting the car sorted. Can't wait for the pics...

Welcome

Someone wrote an excellent DIY on door panel removal here that might be useful.

Perhaps I'll see you in Calgary at the end of August.

Thanks for the welcome and the links, I should be able to fix the window and the fan now.

Maple Bay! Just a nice drive from Victoria where I am, also with Polar Silver C2 (1992), with primary bypass. I would love to see your car, but especially would like to hear the primary bypass combined with cat bypass set up that you have. Give me an email at theblanks@shaw.ca if you get a chance.

So far the call for 964 Canadians (or 964 rides in Canada, and some Canadians elsewhere, as well as a few 993/996/SC folk who have cruised into the 964 forum) has turned up:

Well here are some pictures, "frankvan" reminded me that I never posted any.

I've since fixed the heater problem and the window problem (actually I took it in and got it fixed), but now I'm trying to fix a couple of other small gremlins. The car has been great so far this winter.

This is from the day I picked it up:

This is from a couple nights ago, I just like the angle:

Here's when I was cleaning the wheels, what a job that is:

Welcome! I have to ask... what is the other car in your garage? I see a very large wheel and a low profile tire, all under cover.

Indycam is right, it's a black NSX. I've had it for a couple years, I always wanted a garage with a 911 and an NSX. Now I just need an Ariel Atom and my life is complete, .
