Default Injector o-ring part nos?

I see in the PET that there is a part number for the lower o-ring. The one that goes into the short stack (PET 107-05 #6 944.110.901.01 o-ring 7.52 x 3.53 ).

Is the upper o-ring, the one that goes into the fuel rail, the same part number?

For a $100 and week turnaround, send them in to get flushed and rebuilt!

Would love to. The $100 I have. The week is a bit harder to come by. This is my daily driver.

Had I realized what I was up to with the intake cleaning and short stack seal replacement resulting in the injector removal I could have sent them out this past week.

Assuming I could find a way to be without my car for another week, where would I send them?

Witchhunter.com did my injectors for $97, and gave me a cool little paper showing how they work before and after. If you next day the parts to them, the turn around will be quicker... or you can find a local fuel injector shop and take your injectors to them. There is one here where I live about 30 minutes away, but it was just less hassle to send them out and get them back on my doorstep! I hate traffic!

Yes, the top and bottom o-rings are the same. If you're in a hurry you can take one of your o-rings out and bring it to a local job shop, not Autozone or Pep-boys, somewhere larger. They will more than likely have them in stock.

My injectors are all packaged and ready to go to Witchhunter.

I had a leak on #3 and discoverd that #2 and #3 upper o-rings were ravaged when I put them in dry. #4, 5 & 6 and all of the bottom o-rings were fine, as I put them in with a smudge of oil on the o-rings.

I'm learning. The curve is steep! It's a bit frightening and exhilarating all at the same time.

Rennlist rocks! I actually could/would not do this without the support of this group. Thank you all.

Injectors came back today.

            After 100 100.5 101.5 101.5 101 100
          cc/min @ 43.5psi 192 191 192 193 192 191
Injector Balance Before 13.4% After 1.5%
I've installed them and reassembled the intakes.

First ride results showed no hesitation when cold. None.

After warm up it seems to run much smoother with no stumbling/hesitation at all through the revs. I was getting some minor hesitation around 4k.

Even my wife commented! As soon as I fired it up and drove up the drive she came out and said that it sounded much better. It does sound better, for sure.

I'm thrilled!

Oh, and when I installed the injectors they went in so easily that I actually called Witchhunter to check that I received the correct o-rings!

They said that when the rings get old the swell and get brittle. Sometimes the injectors won't come out. I definitely believe my old rings were swollen as they were very difficult to re-install into the fuel rail. And, they were brittle as two were damaged during the re-install. Of course, those two I put in with no oil so it was my own fault.

Sounds like a $100 well spent. Thanks for the post! I have to put this on my do list.

Dave - that 5th injector sure needed a cleaning! Glad you're happy with your choice! After this much time, I think all 964's should get the injectors cleaned up...

Yup. That 5th one put a great big smile on my face! Made the whole effort worth while.

I agree with your assessment that the injectors on all 964's are getting old enough to warrant cleaning and restoration (new o-rings, filters and caps). My o-rings were past their prime, to say the least. WhichHunter suggested that as they age they swell and sometimes prevent the injectors from coming out. Which is not to say that folks should make this priority one, but given my experience I'd say that getting the injectors cleaned and restored should go on the list of maintenance items that need attending to.
