Climate concerns may soon outlaw sports cars in Europe...

This is the one about the euro MP who wants to ban all cars that can do more than 100mph, isn't it? He's a fool. Virtually any car made in the last 30-odd years would fall under that category.

How is it going to be managed? Will every car be geared to only do 100mph? Not practical as we'd all be driving around at 5000-6000rpm on the motorways in the UK to do 70mph.
Electronic limiters? How is he going to do that on all of the millions of older cars that don't have an ecu, or just have a cable driven speedo?

It strikes me as quite foolish to be talking about how cars are getting so much bigger and heavier - a large part of it is all of the stupid laws, regulations and safety testing that they now have to comply with!

For whatever reason, my car may go up in value, but regardless of everything I still have to sell it.
