victory motorcars scam
Heres the story David Maxwell calls me in reply to an ad I have on Craigslist for my 64 corvette. Tells me he wants to buy it. We make a deal. He tells me it is for him and he not a dealer. He says he has a friend he would like the car to go through turns out its victory motorcars in texas. Alright so I go for it. They say they will wire me the money the next day. No wire transfer just a lot of used car B.S. If you have a porsche for sale watch out for these guys. They cannot be trusted. The only job worse than a used car saleman is an IRS agent, and guess what, that is what I do for a living and will be paying Victory a visit in the very near future only because they really screwed me around so I will repay them the favor.

I was at one point contemplating getting rid of my 1990 C2 for a 1992 964T they were selling. I guess that I am glad I did not go that route with them...

I had an issue with a very well know used Porsche, Ferrari specialist in North West London.
Back in 2008, I received a Call from Hendon Way Motors to say they had a buyer for my 2004 996 C4 Cab that I had advertised on Pistonheads!
I knew who they were, had been told to be careful of them, but as prices for 996's were crashing, I though, what ca I loose.
I dropped the car of with them and that's where the fun began.
After messing me around for a few weeks, with stories of buys coming to view the car every time I told them I was coming to collect it.
Finally in Dec after the car had been with them, I turned up out of the blue to take it back.
In the UK we have paper road tax disc's, for a 996 the cost is about £250 PA.
When I dropped the car off, there was 10 months road tax on it.
I found out they had returned it for a refund.
The battery was flat
And the soft top had green moss patches on it from being left out side for 3 months.
Now, I did consider seeing them for the road tax and all the other issues, but honestly I didn't have time for that.
I did threaten them over the road tax, which took them 3 months to return to me the amount they had stolen from me by cashing in something that wasn't theirs in the first place.
A lesson well learned.
