How is the sunroof removed from the car?
Do the circled bolts simply get removed and the roof panel comes loose?
I understand there are cables which move the roof in and out.
Do these come free?
Do I need to worry about them "flying" off?

After opening the sunroof a couple of inches, unbolt the 4 bolts holding those flat brackets on in your red and green circles. You do not have to do anything with the bolts in your yellow circle. Also, remember which way those brackets go. As I remember there are a couple of other little pieces in there that have to go back in a certain way.

Thanks for the input. I've gotten the sunroof out. It appears that the worm drive cable on the passenger side had come loose from the drive motor causing the sunroof to jam.
I can get it to re-engage, but it appears to be a bit tricky to get the sunroof mounting bracket, which is attached to the worm drive cable, to line up correctly with the drivers side mounting bracket.
Should these worm drive cables just come free from the drive motor like this?

Hi dfinnegan,
Undo the zip in the head lining. Remove the two screws/bolts that secure the sunroof gearbox to the tubes that the cables run in.
With the gearbox out you should be able to refit the sunroof, making sure that it is square in it's opening. When the roof is straight and square refit the gearbox to the tubes. The drive gear will then engage the cables at the correct location.
I am concerned as to why this has come out of alignment. Check that the cables have not failed in any way. They usually break away from the bracket end where they attach to the sunroof.
If they are OK, check that the drive gear on the little gear box is OK.

Thank you, all, for your help and guidance.
My sunroof is back together and working better than ever. The drive gear and worm cut drive rods appear to be in fine shape. I suspect that I inadvertently pulled the drive rod free from the drive gear on the passenger side when disassembling the system. Of course, the last guy did a right botch job re-assembling after my windshield was replaced and a rust bubble remediated. I'm sure that contributed to my problems.
I have a few parts to purchase to get it all to 100%. There is a clip on the forward air flap that is broken, one of the plastic guide inserts on the front bracket is worn through and the felt around the sunroof was very badly installed and needs replacement. Once these arrive I'll post a group of pics of all the parts and assemblies for other's to see.
Cheers,
Dave

They are over $70 here and of course, you can't just buy the plastic insert
