Default Power Seat stuck (8-Way)

My passenger side power seat is all the way back and won't move forward. It has the 8 way power controls and I know they are getting power because when I push the front/back buttons I hear a motor engage and then click as if it is taking the slack out of gears, but unable to turn them. All other directions move just dandy. It's only the front/back direction that is giving me fits.

Any tips on how to get the seat forward so I can remove it? I need to be able to get to those back screws so I can yank the whole thing out.

Thanks,

-JD

I've had this in the past. On mine the seat had moved back too far and the mechanism had jammed. I fixed it by unplugging the drive shaft at the moto end and attaching an electric screwdriver/drill and gently increased the torque until it came free again.

There is a hand-crank at the front of the seat. It's an allen head iirc.

A hand crank! That's a great idea. I will look for that. Thanks!

I have solved this problem, it consists of replacing the white bushing entirely with new hardware and thrust bearings. If anyone is interested in having their seats modified/serviced let me know. I am located in Orange County, CA and the company I work for doesn't make sewing machines
