Looks like a biggie - I make that 14 cars up to now.
If that many really do come along, it will probably be better to split into a few groups. Having said that, in spite of some rather erm... spirited driving, I think we've had as many as ten cars in a pretty-uninterrupted convoy before now.
Better give a few pointers for the newbies:
It's about enjoying your car and the company and having fun. No one has anything to live up to, or anything to prove. If you just want to dawdle along at the back, that's absolutely fine. Unless you're Dave, of course, in which case people will assume that you've taken leave of your senses... Remember, if you think you HAVE got something to prove, you could well end up proving the opposite.
That reminds me, some of these roads can be challenging to the point of treacherous - be careful and don't get carried away - the guy in front who's just disappeared from view may know that he has to brake HARD just out of your sight in order to take the bend that you're about to fly straight over...
North Wales is often a hot bed of speed cameras - bear this in mind - if you can't actually SEE that there aren't any on any stretch of road, there may well be one.
There will be LOTS of very open roads where you can pretty much do as you like, but please be act responsibly and slow down if in doubt, especially near houses, etc.
Bring along a picnic lunch.
Make sure you've plenty of fuel (98RON/Super unleaded in particular can be tricky to find on a Sunday, although there's a Shell station at Betwys-y-Coed which is fairly close by).
Recap: Meet at the Esso garage just out of Ruthin on the road to Denbigh at 11.00am. We'll set off from there around 11.30.
Here are a few pictures of the kind of roads that we'll be using. I don't actually seem to have any of the very best ones, as I never feel like stopping to take any on those ones!
Finally, have fun!
