Default Owner's Manual Prices

I have been looking for a OM for the 93 MY we bought recently and the latest OM for sale on ebay went for $152.50. I guess I should start thinking in triple digit for the next one that comes up.

$152 for the owner's manual? Not a shop manual, but the little thing that comes with these cars that tells us where to put the petrol? Wow. I guess I should sell mine and spend the money on a cat bypass.

Were you looking for one just for historical integrity? It seems that for the purpose of information, the Bentley books have so much more info for less cash.

Doesn't surprise me. I think some of the higher milage 964's are worth more in parts than as a whole car. I've not done the complete math but I have a sneaking suspicion that I could part out my car for more then what I could sell a 120,000 mile 1991 C4. It would take more work but it just may be worth more as a parts car. When I see these cars going in the mid teens, I've got to think that engine, trans, interior and bodywork is getting close. Now sell the interior, wheels and misc. bits.

Very similar to what's happening with some collectible guitars right now. I've seen guys on ebay that part out semi-vintage Fender stratocasters. I think its shameful, personally, but they paid for the guitars, they can do what they want with them. Its a free country (sort of).

Now that is funny. Old picture and I don't take many pictures of the car. I'll have to update that...

Thanks for the laugh.

Has anyone tried ordering a MY93 owners manual from Porsche, part no. #WKD-964-021-92 with an MSRP of $47.83USD? The literature catalog has part no. #WKD-964-020-92 listed as "operating instruction english" but I'm not sure if that is the owners manual in english printed by PAG for ROW whereas (I know) the first number I posted is the owners manual in english but printed for PCNA.
