964 616 550 00 if your car is 1989 or 1990

964 616 550 02 if your car is 1991 or beyond.

Marc,

I'm pretty sure the later part no (-02) is the upgraded part with the integral safety cutout and this is the only one currently available. It is interchangeable with the earlier part - except, of course, it has the benefit of the safety cutout.

I assume the question related to the ballast resistor for the rear blower rather than the functionally similar parts for the oil cooler fan or a/c condenser fan. They are different parts although they perform a similar function.

Regards

Dave

You may be correct, sir.

I looked in PET for the number but did not note that -00 had superceded to -02. I also assumed it was for the rear blower.

Dont forget to tie the ballast down to the heat pipe . If that ballast comes loose a car destroying fire has been known !!!!!!!

What is the appropriate way to tie the ballast down? Simple zip-tie?

A zip is the normal method - does the job !
