Default H5 to H4 conversion

Went to install H4 headlights today & ran into a problem. All parts bought thru Pelican, and I believe I have everything for the conversion. I have the headlight plug adapter that the H4 bulb plugs into, but how does this adapter connect to the plug that went into the H5 light? Is the plug cut off & the wiring somehow connected to the adapter, or am I missing another part?

Thanks in advance,

Brad

Somebody (? AJUSA but I can't find it on their website) makes an adapter, but I just made my own with off-the-shelf spade lugs dremelled to fit the H5 plug. Makes it easy to revert to the original H5s if required, although I can't imagine why I'd ever want to...

Never liked the idea of cutting the factory harness, but that's just me.

Darryl,
Thanks.....I would think Pelican would've sent the adapter if needed, so maybe I'm missing it. Am not real crazy about making my own, so I'll find one somewhere. Agreed on the H5's, as they really suck.

Thanks,
Brad

Brad,
I made the conversion to H4's a few years ago. I just cut the wires to the H5 plugs and soldered in the H4 plugs. No problems since. The H4's are so much better than the H5's. You will really enjoy them.

John,
I'll consider going this route if I can't find an adapter. Does it matter which wires go to which terminals on the H4 adapter that the bulb sits in? Am looking forward to the H4's since the H5's are really a POS light.

Thanks,
Brad
