Arrow For Sale: My Pristine 1990 964 C2 Cab w/ only 7,046 Miles (lots of pictures)

I'm conducting the sale via eBay auction so lots more information about this car and pictures can be found on the auction page:

eBay Auction Link

The auction is scheduled to end on Monday May 28, 2007 at 9:00pm EST.

As for the basics, the 964 is in mint condition and only has 7,046 miles on it. It's Guards Red with black leather interior, black canvas top, and Tiptronic transmission. Everything about it is 100% stock and not a single thing has ever been modified, save for new tires (only 1,316 miles old). Yes, it's still sporting the D90 wheels, flag mirrors, and E.T. third brake light.

Good luck to you this time around. If I recall correctly, your last closing price was not too far off from your target. I am surprised that a compromised could not be struck with the potential buyer.

It is one heck of a car for the right buyer.

Thanks! Yeah, hopefully I'll get what I want for it this time around. I'm thinking that maybe trying to sell a convertible in the middle of winter might not have been the best idea, so maybe more people will be interested now that summer is almost here.

Boxter S, heheheheheeh. You wanted a more modern car. Glad to see you got it.

Dude, that car (964) is telling you something... keep it...

Best of luck!

Haha...about the Boxster S....I got it for an unbelievable price I really couldn't refuse. I can probably drive it around for 1-2 years and still sell it for a profit. If I had the means, I would never sell the 964 but I really don't have the space or the need for 2 cars right now. Heck, I barely drive 2-3 times a week!

There's no doubt that the Boxster is more practical than the 964 but it is severely lacking in character. The 964 is so much more fun to be in--the sound of the engine, heavy steering, sport seats that wrap around you, quality of materials, and performance. I know that the Boxster is supposed to handle better and be a tiny bit quicker in a straight line but it sure doesn't always feel like it. The handling yes, the "go" not so much.

does Barrett Jackson accept Porschez? I'm worried about latent defects. Are the oil and spark plugs original?

The heaved-up area to the right, and the blister in the center? At least it doesn't look like there are cracks. If top-dollar is the objective, it probably should be replaced with a good factory one if possible.

Better not drive it much more, as 'low miles' is the biggest drawing card. The biggest obstacle I can see is that it's a Tip. I can see it being bought by somebody that has "one-of-everything" in a barn somewhere.

It's a very nice car. If it gets to $36K again, if it were mine I believe I would take that and run.

Yes, I almost entered this 964 into the Barrett Jackson auction at Palm Beach a couple of months back until I found out that they were only operating "no reserve" auctions. That, coupled with their high commission, made me decide against it.

All fluids (including oil) were flushed and replaced during its last major service in September 2005 (about 5,000 miles ago). The spark plugs have not been replaced while in my possession-- as to whether they are original, I would imagine so but I can't guarantee that 100%.

I'm looking for a targa, but what is the price you are seeking for this car?

There are only 2 hours left on ebay, you're at $35,100, AND it's still below your reserve... Amazing... If those are real bids, I should have kept my 964's!!!
