is it toast?

i have a < 1 yr old red top that is only showing 6 or so volts...i have tried to charge it but my charger just goes to 'check' mode...is the battery toast? i got it at sears, do i just take it back? i think it is still under warranty...i have the receipt somewhere...

Could be...
I just had one die in the RSA.
Used the maintence charger and everything.
Yes, it had a free replacement.
The store wanted to make sure it wasn't any good and when they put it on their machine, it blew bubbles out of the top foam vents.
