Default Trunk/Bonnet Carpet

I have removed my trunk/bonnet carpet and I dont think I am going to put it back. I dont really think it serves any purpose that I can see. I will just add it to the pile along with the engine tray and whatever else.......

How many of you have yours removed?

Is there any reason that it should be kept in place?

If you tend to carry items in your front trunk, then the carpet may protect some components (or the cargo itself) from becoming damaged.

Ditto

I think the hood carpet when vaccumed looks really good in the front, kind of tidies it up, hides all the wires and spare, etc etc
As for the Tray, thats a pain in the ***, cooling and maintenance, makes life hard for us removing all the time for checks, some will say they hide oil leaks, there is a saying for that. Out of site out of mind.
