Greenjt - your car looks identical to mine - except for the wheels.

Cleaning the dielectric grease out of the intake leads fixed the problem. I'm hoping the heat will melt the grease out of the bottom leads and eliminate any issues there given time.

Hey I just wanted to stop by to say thanks for all the help. Today I finally got my new ignition coils delivered, so I took a half hour to install them... Started the car up and took it for a few laps around the block until it warmed up, then I took it for a longer drive...

I've driven it about 50 miles this afternoon so I'm guessing it's good now. That would mean it was the primary ignition coil since (by my logic anyway), when i swapped ignition coils I and II around, the problem went away. When I switched them back into their 'proper' places, the car would again not start... Two brand new ones were purchased since both are as old as the car and have 105k miles on them.

And dare I say the car idles and runs a little smoother now than it has for quite a while? Could the new coils help that or is that just because I've been driving my extremely raw and harsh Evo for that past couple weeks that the 964 feels too smooth?

Big thanks to everyone who helped me out in this thread. I owe you all beer and plan to repay one-by-one.

Rennlist definitely rocks.

Thnx again,
Harry

ps...greenjt, my floormats are brand new.
