44 lbs in the back? I race on lower pressures than that (37/39). I cannot see how the tires are performing at their optimum when they are that hard. Maybe it is more effective with tires that have a lot of tread; the higher pressures helping to keep the tread blocks firm. It certainly will not work with a high performance thin treaded tire.

I run 33 Front, 36 rear cold for street on 18" wheels. For DE/track I start out much lower cold (approx 26/29) and then check it again once its hot but I keep it 3 pounds different from front to rear regardless. If I run the front pressure as high as the rear, it seems to want to push too much in the corners. I should mention this is all on street tires (Yokohamas).
